Elliot.wavs' 2023 EP, "i'm not scared now" is an emotional journey, a vocal tour de force and a bold debut.
Lush choirs and heavy guitars set the stage for Elliot.wavs's soaring vocals in the title track, "I'm Not Scared Now". Playful synths blast off over a snappy piano groove in "When You Were Here". Elliot.wavs's tender falsetto melts into the smooth acoustic rhythms of "Tumble", and delivers a heartbreaking performance on "twenty five". Don't be surprised if you spontaneously break into song during "So Long". Go ahead, it's alright.
Mixed by Stuart Sullivan, the engineer who built Willie Nelson's Arlyn Studio and recorded Sublime's Multi-Platinum, "Sublime", the EP features performances from Austin legends Brannen Temple, 3x grammy winning drummer for Gary Clark Jr, and Red Young, organist for such greats as Dolly Parton and Linda Rondstadt.
Elliot.wavs is an artist, writer and producer who makes soulful pop for people with big feelings. For the last 20 years, he has been a composer, a music teacher, a summer camp songleader, a front-man, a side-man, and through it all, a songwriter.
As soon as he was tall enough to reach the keys, Elliot.wavs was playing piano. He honed his musicianship as a guitar player, studying jazz at the University of North Texas. There he also explored Afro-Cuban percussion, sang in Jazz choirs, and studied baroque counterpoint, all while steeping in DFW's unique blend of gospel and modern jazz. During this time, he self-produced four records under the name "Many Voices".
After moving to Austin in 2016, Elliot.wavs began recording and touring with acts such as Karma Stewart, Courtney Santana, Calliope Musicals (Best Band - Austin Chronicle, 2016), and Honey Made (Best Live Band, Austin Fit Magazine 2022, 2023). In 2020, he was gearing up for a very busy SXSW when the world shut down.
This disruption would prove an opportunity. Elliot.wavs returned to his focus as an artist, adopted a new name, and recorded his most ambitious project yet, featuring Austin legends Brannen Temple, 3x grammy winning drummer for Gary Clark Jr, and Red Young, organist for such greats as Dolly Parton and Linda Rondstadt. The record was engineered and mixed by Stuart Sullivan, the man who built Willie Nelson's Arlyn Studio and recorded Sublime's Multi-Platinum, "Sublime".

In 2024, at an Ableton event during SXSW, Elliot.wavs picked up a jar of jelly that would change his life. He linked up with a record label called Cosmic Jelly, who brought him to London for a week-long intensive writing camp based in Imogen Heap's Hideaway Studio. He and 50+ songwriters from around the world worked in groups on a collection of briefs for Indie Films, Ad Campaigns, and K-Pop Idols.
The trip to London connected Elliot.wavs with a new world of collaborators and writing techniques. He began writing to briefs, crafting songs with a specific purpose and intent. This new way of working led to Elliot.wavs' first radio placement, with the song "Fort Flutter". "Fort Flutter" was written as a theme song for an art installation at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center's "Fortlandia" event. KUTX debuted the track on their weekly children's show, "Spare The Rock, Spoil The Child", alongside an interview with Elliot.wavs, installation producer Jake Rosenberg, and artist Liza Fishbone.
Elliot.wavs is currently working on a variety of projects with local and international artists, and will be releasing new singles in 2025.
